Occasionally the people I live with and I forget how things used to be before technology took over and has given us several things that the people I live with and I take for granted today.
I remember back when I was young the people I lived with and I did not have a strong air conditioning system; all of us only had fans and when it was unquestionably sizzling outside, the people I lived with and I used to go and spray the cold water from the hose outside on us or go swimming in an ice cold swimming pool! Recently I remembered the old cold water hose trick when our central heating and cooling went out on a sizzling warm season day.
The heating and cooling dealer just could not get someone out right away, so our kids were getting to think that they were overheated. That was when I had them go outside and play with the water hose and spray cold water all over themselves. They ended up actually having fun with it and also cooling off and feeling great! They were amazed that there were other ways to stay cool other than cranking a central air conditioning system. I had to explain to them that when I was a kid, this was what the people I lived with and I used to do aside from having our window fans. All of us also had kiddie sprinklers as well that were pretty fun to play with; my kids unquestionably enjoyed having a water party with the cold water from the hose. It got myself and others thinking that maybe the people I live with and I should all do things the old fashioned way every so often to educate our kids of what once was and also so that the people I live with and I don’t take today’s technology for granted!
